Если бы у меня была ядерная бомба, я бы крепко подумала, прежде чем выносить вердикт. Но сама идея никаких нареканий не вызывает. Если можно бомбить Белград, то почему нельзя бомбить Нью-Йорк? Если допустимо сбрасывать атомные бомбы на Японию (как-то смотрела по телевизору интервью с летчиками, не заметила, чтобы они раскаивались в содеянном), то почему нельзя на Америку? Америка не соблюдает международных законов, так почему другие страны их должны соблюдать? Я не хочу жить по принципу - все люди равны, но некоторые равнее.

Я давно задался тем же вопросом. В прошлую Пятницу, когда 200 наших влезли в Косово, и созрела ситуация для “продуктивного диалога” с Американоидами, я, весь такой из себя гордый, пошёл по Чикагским ночным кабакам -- оттянуться на Американоидах. Пошёл себе так, немного подебоширить, по морде (дать или получить) -- культурно время провести, в общем. И что же я увидел? 

Пузатые уроды переваривают в своих желудках отруби (простите, гамбургеры -- это, как в Питере, беляши по 14 копеек, такое же  дерьмо) и ни на какие мои наезды не отвечают. Все их мысли -- о предстоящей вшивой своей пенсии, о копеечных облегациях в сберкассе, да о работёнках своих с 8 до 5. КАКО-О-О-Й уж там патриотизм?! Изжога, геморой, мед. страховка, виагра и мираж 15-суточного отпуска (столько им тут отведено). И это, казалось бы, политически зрелые отцы семейств, понимаш. Ссыкуны, на самом-то деле, как я и подозревал. 

В общем-то я всё это хорошо знал (таки лучшие свои молодые годы здесь похерил), но решил проверить, вдруг в связи с Косово что-то  изменилось. 

Так вот, НИЧЕГО не изменилось. (А пожил я здесь во многих разных сёлах и городах.) Весь патриотизм их -- АНКЕТНЫЙ. Патриоты, знай себе, проставляют крестики-галочки в вопросниках в стиле “одобрям- не одобрям”. При этом, проставление крестиков под “одобрям” НЕ ПРЕДУСМАТРИВАЕТ готовности не только к самопожервованию, но и даже к пожертвованию $10. Абсолютно пустые слова, а очкарики-социологи, знай себе, подсчитывают %%, вовсе не понимая, что при малейшем напряге/наезде “респ онденты” проставят свои галочки в другой графе анкеты. 

ОРГАНИЧЕСКИЙ и неотъемлемый порок анкетных опросов, цитируемых затем всеми и везде, -- НЕСПОСОБНОСТь этих опросов выявить степень приверженности респондента к своей позиции. Кретсик-галочка НИЧЕГО не говоржит о том, способен ли отвечатьент пойти в бой за своё убеждение. Вполне вероятно, что 90% старых геморойщиков и молодых раздолбаев, коих я встретил в ту Пятницу,  проставили крестики в графе “одобрям”, да только бородатые сербы с автоматами в раз изменят раскладку этих “опросов”, и придётся очкарикам снова пересчитывать все %%. “Статистика” эта рассчитана на Бобика и New Jersey, но не на серьёзного аналитика! 

Мораль сей баснi: ИГНОРИРУЙТЕ, господа, результаты анкетных опросов. Они абсолютно поверхностны и не подкреплены никакой готовностью или ответственностью респ ондентов.

Господа, показывали ли вас по телевизору очень мощную демонстрацию, которая состоялась в Лондоне во время встречи Большой Восьмерки? Демонстранты
громили Лондонское Сити, в ответ их отчаянно дубасили войска. Основные требования - простить долги странам третьего мира и пересмотреть политику МВФ. Не
знаю, имеет ли большой смысл бить стекла в банках и Макдональдсах, но суть в том, что новый мировой порядок многим уже изрядно поднадоел. 

Этим-то и опасен “фашиствующий либерализм”, своей аггрессивной пропагандой и идеологией. К своему стыду, я лишь пару лет назад понял, с чем мы имеем дело. 

С недавнего времени я изучаю (как могу, конечно) способы и механизмы выращивания подобных сверх-чрловеков и с ужасом понимаю, что мы имеем дело не с
простым рыночным оболванием, а с научно-разработанным идеологическим процессом, ведущим своё начало ещё от дедушки Карнег ги. 

В последнее время я практикуйю свои познания в псевдо-дискуссии с порождениями фаш-либерализма, например в конфе ТАНЮг. Тяжелое складывается
впечатление, что и говорить. 

Их сила в незнании и в непонимании: абсолютно не реагируют на указываемую им очевидную “лажёвость” их же аргументов, ослеплены какой-то фанатической
идеей “правильности Западного учения”, абсолютно неотличимы друг от друга, назойливо лезут в печёнки со своей якобы праведностью (их в дверь - они в окно), --
прямо татаро-монгольская орда какая-то: пытаются взять количеством своих безмозглых и безграмотных постов, накаляканых в одинаковом формате. Даже их
церкви/синагоги - не храмы, а какие-то “Красные Уголки”, рассадники политработы. Жуткое дело. 

Ума не приложу, как здравомыслящие могут противостоять этой орде сумасшедших фанатиков.

Боб! Мне кажется, что это очень хороший пример того, что СМИ передергивают факты (т.е. выделяют именно то, что им выгодно).
Разберемся, какие конкретно плохие такие СМИ нам попадаются. Для избежания большого объема я разбил свое "исследование" на две
части. Первая содержит высказывания пресловутых СМИ о высказываниях же Бейкона, а вторая будет содержать стенографию
пресс-конференции, на которой этот дядька выступал. 
При этом, пожалуй, я даже не хочу устанавливать факт, кто как кого передернул - Бейкона я тожу отношу к СМИ и мне не интересно,
как одни идеологи подтасовывают высказывания других. Интереснее сама "идеология в действии" - как голову обывателям дурят. 

ЕЩЕ РАЗ ПРО "ОБЪЕКТИВНОСТЬ" СМИ. 
Часть 1: КАК ОНИ ПОДАВАЛИ БЕЙКОНА. 

1. Наемники-убийцы: статья в Newsday 
22 июня в этой газете появилась статья Russians helped slaughter ethnic Albanians.  http://www.newsday.com/news/kosg622.htm 

Пересказывать не буду. Основной сюжет - русские наемники участвовали вместе с сербами в массовых убийствах албанцев. Было это
или нет, оставим пока в стороне. Интересно, однако, что произошло дальше. А произошло то, что прогрессивная ественность начала
реагировать на эти новые ужасы - особенно на фоне того, что скоро, мол, русские придут в Косово, а они ведь видите какие звери! 
По этому поводу на пресс-конференции спикера Пентагона Кеннета Бейкона были заданы соответствующие вопросы, на которые он
ответил по мере слабых сил своих. Но поскольку прогрессивное человечество пресс-конференции обычно не читает, то СМИ решили
заполнить этот досадный пробел и предприняли все усилия, чтобы это человечество просветить (оно, человечество, хоть и
прогрессивное, но в массе своей - материя косная и невежественная). 

Поскольку своя рубашка ближе к телу, приведу наш, кондовый, материал в первую очередь. Так сказать, интерпретацию в российском
исполнении. 
 

2. ИТАР-ТАСС

2.1 Министерство обороны США не располагает собственной или подтвержденной информацией о возможном участии отдельных
российских граждан в действиях сербских сил на территории Косово, заявил во вторник на брифинге официальный представитель
Пентагона Кеннет Бейкон. 

2.2 Комментируя по просьбе журналистов появившиеся сообщения на эту тему в некоторых американских СМИ, Бейкон сказал, что у
Пентагона "нет конкретных свидетельств /такого/ участия россиян в Косово". По его словам, все имеющиеся у США сведения на этот
счет, получены от боевиков так называемой "Освободительной армии Косово" /ОАК/. Он предположил, что и сообщения в СМИ также
основаны на "источниках ОАК, на заявлениях о том, что они /боевики ОАК/ видели, или слышали, или узнали иными путями". 

2.3 Бейкон рассказал, что сведения об участии отдельных россиян - предположительно наемников - в действиях сербских
формирований в Косово стали поступать в министерство обороны США еще на ранней стадии воздушной операции НАТО против
Югославии. Но он не смог сказать ничего определенного о том, кем могли являться эти люди, их количество, чем они занимались и в
каком качестве находились на территории сербского края. 

2.4 Бейкон выразил уверенность в том, что выяснением всех вопросов, связанных с событиями последних недель в Косово, и
установлением степени ответственности отдельных лиц за содеянное там займутся следователи международного трибунала по военным
преступлениям, прибывающие в эти дни в сербский край. 
 

3. Что сказали в ВВС

(Обратим внимание на заголовок - он задает настрой на все дальнейшее. Далее я снова выделяю для удобства подпункты в том
порядке, в котором они присутсвуют в оригинальной статье. Обратим также внимание, что сначала следуют "сильные" утверждения;
потом они начинают несколько ослабевать - надо полагать, с ослаблением внимания читающего, который уже вынес "главное":
русские действительно участвовали в "этнических чистках"...)

killed. He said it was unclear whether the deaths were caused by NATO bombing or combat with the KLA rebels.

Question: Ken, I'd like to ask you about the Newsday report that quotes both ethnic Albanians and a member of the Serb security force saying that Russian volunteers had taken part in the killing of hundreds of Kosovars and the destruction of their towns and villages. Newsweek [sic] says that these Russians were organized as a single unit under the Ministry of the Interior. 

Does the Pentagon have any evidence that what is being alleged here is true? 

Answer: I read that Roy Gutman report in Newsday. We certainly know that Russians participated. Russian volunteers, mercenaries we believe, did participate with paramilitary and other Serb forces. There were reports during the 11-week Operation ALLIED FORCE of even some Russian deaths during the conflict. 

I do not have verification that there were units or groups of the size that Newsday reports, but we do believe there was some Russian participation. 

Now having said that, I want to point out that when the Russian forces arrive as part of KFOR, we expect them to be totally fair and professional in their dealings with both Serbs and Kosovar Albanians, as they have been in Bosnia where they have been very stalwart and successful members of the peacekeeping force. I anticipate that the Russian troops coming to Kosovo will be exactly the same. 

Q: Is there any indication whether these were mercenaries or active Russian troops, or whether they had... 

A: I told you that they were mercenaries. We believe that they were mercenaries. Whether some of them had served in the military at one time or not, I can't say.

Q: Gutman's piece is sort of focused on just one area of Kosovo, but do you have evidence of Russian mercenaries involved in massacres in a wider area? When did the Pentagon or the American government first become aware of this? 

A: We were aware of it from fairly early on. We had reports mainly from the UCK that Russians had been, that there had been Russians killed, but it was only reports from the UCK. We hadn't been on the ground. I daresay that Gutman's sources are UCK sources as well, reporting on what they saw or heard or learned in other ways. 

So I don't think we have firm evidence on the numbers of Russian troops or where they operated. These are facts that may come out later, but we didn't have very detailed evidence that there were Russian mercenaries involved. We did have reports from the UCK. 

Q: That they were killed by airstrikes? 

A: I don't know that, how they were killed. 

Q: How about nationalities that might have been involved as mercenaries. Did you have... 

A: I'm not aware that there were other ones. There could well have been, but I haven't seen reports on that. 

And I must say that the reports that I saw did not suggest large numbers of Russian mercenaries. In fact, it would be hard to extrapolate from
what I saw as to any numbers beyond very small numbers.

A: Well, it was, as I said, our impression that they were mercenaries, but this is something that I'm sure will be looked into by war
crimes investigators who are now going into Kosovo in considerable numbers to try to figure out what happened and who was responsible for
it. There have been many, many reports in the last few days of more evidence of atrocities, and all sorts of groups are going in to investigate
these, including a group of FBI agents. 

Q: As I understand the word "mercenaries," it's people who are paid, paid soldiers. Who was paying them? 

A: You're asking me questions I can't answer. Presumably, they were soldiers of fortune of some sort who were going down and being paid  by, I would say, largely by Serb paramilitary groups, but I don't know that for a fact. There were Serb paramilitary groups operating in Kosovo along with special police and Serb forces. 

Q: I take it, Ken, the way I understand it, your report -- from what you understand about this -- comes from KLA sources, right?
You don't have any other source of information... 

A: That's correct. That's correct. 

Q: Do you have any reason to think individual Russians are still in Kosovo? 

A: I can't answer that question. 

Q: Weren't Russians acting as advisors to Serb military in Kosovo? 

A: I don't have a lot of information on that, and I'm not... 

Q: They were, weren't they? I mean Serb forces... 

A: Pat, I can't answer the question. I just don't know. I can't tell you something I don't know. I assume that there could have been some Russians as advisors, but I don't know that. 
 

Честно говоря, прочитав все это, я не имею претензий к ИТАР-ТАСС... По-моему, они выразили суть того, что Бейкон наговорил: 

Кроме донесений КЛА у Пентагона ничего нет. 

А если это исходить из западных СМИ, то вроде совсем другое впечатление получается...

1.Почему НАТО не соблюдает резолюцию ООН, согласно которой операция должна проходить под эгидой ООН и миротворческий
контингент должен включать в себя войска не только стран НАТО, но и нейтральных государств? Почему переговоры о посылки
российский войск представители России были вынуждены вести с американскими официальными лицами, которые не имеют никакого
отношения к ООН? Кто назначил генерала Джексона командующим KFOR? Почему западные СМИ постоянно обсуждают возможность
выхода Косова из состава Югославии, хотя это противоречит резолюции ООН. 
2. Как нам всем известно, группа адвокатов из разных стран подала иск против НАТО в Международный трибунал. По какой причине
западные СМИ игнорируют эту информацию? 
3. Существует ли на Би-би-си цензура, и как вы обясняете тот факт, что прямые репортажи из Югославии выших корреспондентов (в
частности, Симсона) расходятся с официальной позицией Пентагона. Как вы поступаете с журналистами, публикующими

MESSAGE 

Dear Madame Prosecutor, 

It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to meet you in person. I found 
our meeting very constructive and informative and I want to thank you for 
carefully listening to our remarks and comments. I hope that your Office will 
proceed and that justice will ultimately be served in this case. I would also 
like to take this opportunity to follow up on a few points that were made 
during the meeting. 

Firstly, there is ample evidence of the actus reus of the crimes charged, 
in other words, the death, injuries and destruction, which have been 
documented in the press and which are not disputed by NATO. Although I 
will supply the Court with photographic and video evidence, such evidence 
has also appeared in the media and is even available on the INTERNET. 
The mens rea element for NATO’s political and military leadership has also 
been documented in the international press and is evidenced by these 
individuals’ press statements. As to the exact chain of command that is 
followed by NATO, I would presume that it would be easy enough for your 
Office to obtain this information directly from NATO should you request it. 
The above being the case, it is difficult for one to fathom exactly what 
aspects of the prima facie case is lacking for your Office to issue 
corresponding indictments. 

I have had the opportunity to reread your indictment of Milosevic et al. 
and I am still perplexed at the charge that the accused are solely 
responsible for the forceable deportation of approximately 740,000 
Albanians from January 1, 1999 to May 24, 1999. When I asked you about 
this, you told me that this charge was based on the information in your 
possession. It is curious that the indictment does not differentiate between 
the relatively small number of ethnic Albanians refugees that existed prior 
to the NATO bombing and the overwhelmingly large number of ethnic 
Albanians who fled the country following the air strikes, but instead opts to 
lump all the refugees together. The indictment completely overlooks the 
actual, verifiable fact that during the exodus of these Albanian refugees, the 
entire area was being systematically bombed by NATO forces. It is 
intuitively obvious that the threat and the actual dropping of tons of 
explosives on one’s village and surrounding territories, twenty four hours a 
day, would be ample inducement for one to leave one’s homes and seek 
refuge in safer territory. Moreover, the indictment does not take into 
account that during the time period in question, the Government forces 
were engaged in a violent guerrilla warfare in this area, against the KLA 
which was being sheltered by the ethnic Albanian community in Kosovo 
prior and during the NATO air raids. I would also direct your attention to the 
various intelligence report of the German Foreign Office directed to the 
Administrative Courts of Trier, Mainz, Bavaria and Muster during their 
adjudication of asylum petitions filed by ethnic Albanians which came to 
the conclusion that there was no proof of a Government plan to 
systematically expel ethnic Albanians. These reports are readily available 
on the INTERNET. The German Foreign Office advised German 
Administrative Courts that there was no verifiable explicit political 
persecution linked to Albanian ethnicity and that public life in most areas of 
Kosovo, particularly cities like Pristina, Urosevac, Gnjilan, etc had, during 
the entire conflict period (prior to the NATO air raids), continued on a 
relatively normal basis. Moreover, these reports note that the actions of the 
Serb security forces were not directed against the Kosovo-Albanians as 
an ethnically defined group, but against military opponents of the 
Government and their actual or alleged supporters. I make the above 
points not in defense of Milosevic and his regime, but because I believe it 
is incomprehensible for the exodus of the approximately 740,000 
Albanians to be, in good conscience, attributed solely and exclusively to 
the individuals named in your indictment. If this conclusion is based on the 
information in your possession as you have told me, then it is clear that the 
information has been derived solely from Kosovo-Albanian or NATO 
sources eager to legitimize their illegal war, and as such its accuracy is 
highly questionable. 

Finally, although I respect your conviction that the Tribunal is an 
independent body and is not accountable to any government or 
organization, it is difficult to accept this assertion of impartiality when the 
Tribunal has hastened to indict President Milosevic for the deportation of 
approximately 740,000 Kosovo-Albanians in 1999, while President 
Tudjman has still not been indicted for the documented expulsion of 
350,000-400,000 Serbs from Krajina four years earlier. This was the first 
large scale deportation in Europe following World War II, and it was vocally 
and actively celebrated by Tudjman’s regime. Once again, without doubt, 
ample evidence exists to make a prima facie case against Tudjman, yet 
the Tribunal has remained silent for four years. This continued state of 
affairs gives credence to allegations that the Tribunal is not objective. The 
four year absence of a public indictment and international arrest warrant 
against Tudjman, whose regime has moved on to gain international 
legitimacy, seriously impairs claims of the Tribunal’s independence and 
the even-handed allocation of justice. 

I understand that you will be leaving the Tribunal in September to pursue 
a position on the Supreme Court of Canada and if this information is 
accurate, I wish you the best of luck in your new post. Prior to your leaving 
the Tribunal, you would be making a history and a vital contribution to 
upholding international law if you were to publicly announce the indictment 
of those NATO’s political and military leaders who are responsible for the 
perpetration of war crimes in Yugoslavia and the indictment of President 
Tudjman for his deportation and “ethnic cleansing” of the Krajina Serbs.

США "БОМБЯТ" КОСОВАРОВ ОПАСНЫМИ ЛЕКАРСТВАМИ

Вспоминается характерная московская картина времен горбачевского обмена Восточной Германии на просроченные суточные рационы
НАТО со складов в Западной Германии. Мощная военная составляющая гуманитарной помощи была вполне оправданна: в магазинах
пусто, как в районе Смоленской дороги при отступлении Наполеона. Все сожрала перестройка. 
Старушка соседка получила в жилконторе гуманитарную помощь сухим молоком. Стакан с разведенным порошком стоял у нее на
подоконнике на июльской жаре, превратившись в главный аттракцион всей лестничной площадки. День, неделя, десять дней - молоко
не скисало. Когда пошла вторая неделя, а содержимое стакана продолжало упорно сопротивляться солнечной агрессии, бабуля
аккуратно запечатала картонку и понесла продавать "химию" к "Детскому миру". 
Другой сосед заполнил балкон гуманитарным порошковым пюре и "минами" - банками немецкой тушенки, продуктом, вероятно,
секретным и потому без всяких внятных российскому человеку обозначений сроков годности. Я сам как-то купил у того же "Детского
мира", куда стекался один из гуманитарных ручейков, набор джи-ая: порошкового цыпленка с гарниром, пережившего на натовских
складах десятилетия "холодной войны", порошковую же кока-колу при нем и таблетку для обеззараживания воды, в которой эту
кока-колу следовало разводить в полевых условиях. Из двух пакетиков все ссыпается в один, добавляется другой, происходит реакция,
дым, вонь, жар: продукт разогрет и готов к употреблению. Через полчаса проветривания следует отбой химической тревоги. "Ты
такими деликатесами организм испортишь, - помнится, поучал сосед, заглянув на ядовитый дымок в мою квартиру, - в тяжелые
времена есть надо простые натуральные продукты, мясо и картошку, как я", - он кивнул на свой балкон, где разомлевшие от жары
голуби лениво расхаживали по пыльным картонкам с пюре и проржавевшим штабелям "мин". 

Самое интересное, что мы выжили. Вероятно, бактерии брезговали размножаться в достававшихся нам продуктах со стратегических
военных складов. Этот московский эпизод десятилетней давности всплывает в памяти каждый раз, когда поступают сообщения о том,
чем лечат, поят и кормят косовских беженцев в лагерях в Македонии и Албании. В этом отношении им приходится куда хуже, чем
россиянам периода пустых магазинных полок и неограниченной гуманитарной интервенции мирового сообщества. 
Совсем недавно норвежцы передали, что больше сотни албанцев отравились салями, присланной с гуманитарной помощью с Украины.
Оказалось, что срок годности колбасы вышел десять лет назад. Но у кого повернется язык обвинять Украину в злом умысле или
преступной небрежности? Скорее всего, посылают на Балканы то, что сами едят, возможно даже лучшее, только украинцы уже прошли
период мутации и естественного отбора, а албанцы еще нет. 
Другое дело, богатый Запад, сознательно путающий беженские лагеря с помойками. О том, по ситуация с гуманитарной помощью
сложилась именно таким образом, сообщила Всемирная организация здравоохранения (ВОЗ), которую недавно возглавила энергичная
норвежка Гру Харлем Брундтланд. 

Особенно неприятно выглядит положение с лекарствами, посылаемыми прежде всего из США. Консультант ВОЗ, фармацевт Кирстен
Мюр, провела обследование снадобий, присланных в Македонию для беженцев. Выяснилось, что заокеанские дарители считают:
главные проблемы беглецов из Косово - это пристрастие к курению, ожирение и упорное нежелание албанских матерей переходить с
кормления младенцев грудью на искусственные смеси. В лагеря из-за океана присылают контейнеры с никотиновыми ингаляторами,
используемыми в переходный период отвыкания от сигарет, заменители материнского молока и средства борьбы с лишним весом.
Кроме того, поступает масса рекламных упаковок - всего по нескольку таблеток в каждой - различных новых лекарств, обычно
раздаваемых потенциальным потребителям бесплатно. Врачам в лагерях остается лишь пичкать чудо-пилюлями от старческого
слабоумия пациентов с нервными заболеваниями посттравматического характера и сердечников или посыпать витаминными порошками
содранные до крови ноги людей, прошедших пешком десятки километров по горным тропам. 

Косоварам предлагаются также в неограниченном количестве лекарства от малярии и холеры, потребность в которых начинается
несколько ближе к экватору. Как сообщается в докладе ВОЗ, 40 процентов всех лекарств, поступающих с гуманитарной помощью в
лагеря беженцев, здесь совершенно не нужны. Еще одна проблема, куда более серьезная, - лекарства с просроненными сроками
годности, многие из которых опасны для здоровья. Таких фармацевтических "мин" в македонские и албанские лагеря приходит более 30 процентов от общего количества. Как объясняют ревизоры ВОЗ, проверявшие гуманитарную медицинскую помощь, главная причина отправки старых лекарств в лагеря беженцев - экономическая. Фармацевтические фирмы США получают налоговые льготы, избавляясь от лекарственных препаратов, срок годности которых заканчивается менее чем через шесть месяцев. 

Именно фирмы-производители и правительство США заваливают Албанию и Македонию ненужными или старыми лекарствами. Ведущие западные лидеры, занимающиеся косово, в один голос уверяют в необходимости возвращения беженцев домой до наступления зимы. Теперь один из мотивов такой срочности стал явным: к этому времени все лекарства в лагерях окончательно превратятся в отраву Стокгольм.

Long Tradition of Distroying Serbian Shrines. 

The destruction of Serbian religious art and its historical and national heritage has virtually never ceased since 1941. During the Second World War, in addition to more than a
million Serbian lives, over 400 Serbian Orthodox churches were destroyed. In the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac alone, out of 203 churches and chapels, 116 were destroyed and
39 heavily damaged during World War II. In the Diocese of Slavonia, 54 churches were destroyed and 21 seriously damaged. On the territory of the Diocese of Banja Luka, 64
churches were casualties, 21 damaged. Three monasteries were heavily damaged and one completely destroyed. One chapel and 38 parish homes were destroyed, 12 parish
homes damaged. In the same Diocese, 98 monasteries and parish libraries perished forever, as well as 94 archives. One half of all the Serbian churches destroyed during the
Second World War were located on the territory of these three Dioceses. 

This state of affairs eventually led to a much worse situation, more dangerous, more inhuman; i. e., a state of total spiritual genocide. This most recent war (1991–1995) has
taken what was most valuable; beside innocent lives, it has destroyed shrines, cultural, artistic and material goods. The war, forced upon the Serbian people, has brought the
Serbian Orthodox Church and its faithful in that area to the verge of annihilation. 

Serbian churches and other elements of the religious and historical heritage of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the former Yugoslav Republic of Croatia, which includes five
Orthodox Dioceses (Osek Polje and Baranja, Slavonia, Zagreb-Ljubljana, Upper Karlovac and Dalmatia) were the first to suffer. This was done deliberately, the purpose being
to destroy authentic testimonies and the spiritual heritage of the Serbian people in the areas of Baranja, Slavonia, Lika, Banija, Kordun, Dalmatia, and elsewhere. These
churches, all architectural monuments, represent the religious and national identity of the Serbian people in these regions. By razing, desecrating and damaging in other ways
Serbian churches and cultural monuments, the enemy seeks, besides wiping out all traces of them, to spiritually maltreat the Serbian Orthodox. The newly elected Bishop of
the diocese of Osijek cannot renovate his Residence in Osijek. The Bishop’s Residence in Pakrac (built in 1732) was plundered, shelled and devastated. The Bishop’s Residence
in Zagreb was damaged by explosives. The Bishop’s Residence in Karlovac was plundered, damaged and dynamited on Roman Catholic Christmas in 1993. None of the
Orthodox Bishops from the former Yugoslav Republic of Croatia may return to their residence for two basic reasons: either the residences are damaged, or, primarily, Croatian
authorities do not allow it. 

The attitude toward Serbian churches, monasteries and other church buildings is almost the same in Bosnia and Hercegovina. In that former Yugoslav Republic, there are also
five Serbian Orthodox Dioceses (Banja Luka, Bihac-Petrovac, Zahum-Hercegovina, Dabar-Bosnia and Zvornik-Tuzla). Diocesan residences have been destroyed or damaged in
Sarajevo, Mostar and Tuzla, while Bishops reside temporarily in other places. 

The Museum of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, alongside rescuing liturgical and other sacral and art objects, is making a complete list, a Diptych of the new victims
of Croatian and Muslim destruction. The number of demolished, damaged and desecrated Serbian holy sites is enormous, and it is not yet completed because Serbian shrines
and other historical monuments on territory controlled by Croatian and Muslim forces are not accessible and their fate is uncertain, so that the number of 212 destroyed and
367 damaged churches is still incomplete. 

Of the ten Serbian Orthodox Diocesan Sees in the former Yugoslav Republics of Croatia and Bosnia-Hercegovina, seven have been shelled or devastated. The cathedrals in
Pakrac, Karlovac and Mostar have been destroyed. The old Bishop’s Library in Pakrac, one of the most valuable of Serbian libraries, was plundered, its ancient books scattered
and sold all over former Yugoslavia and Europe. This venerable Library was founded by Patriarch Arsenije III Carnojevic, and each of the Bishops of Pakrac, i. e., Slavonia,
bequeathed his own personal library to this central Diocesan Library. In the Library, alongside old manuscripts, there were 112 Serbian medieval church books, the largest
number preserved in a Serbian library. The same fate befell the Diocesan Libraries in Zagreb, Karlovac and Mostar. The one in Sarajevo was burnt down. 

It was only in 1985 that church valuables and works of art, plundered during the last World War, were returned to their owners: diocesan, monastery and parish treasuries.
They have been plundered again now or, which is even more tragic, destroyed. The treasury of the old Pakrac Diocese, where precious icons and other liturgical and art
objects (e. g., vessels, vestments) from the Monasteries of Orahovica, Pakra and Saint Ana, as well as from numerous churches, were safeguarded, was mercilessly
plundered and destroyed. The Diocesan Church Museum in Zagreb, located in the Metropolitan’s Residence, was dynamited; the Bishop’s Residence with its treasury in Mostar
was dynamited; and the fate of the treasury of the Diocese of Upper Karlovac, in the Bishop’s Residence in Karlovac, is unknown (because the Residence itself was completely
devastated); uncertain also is the fate of valuables belonging to the Diocese of Zvornik-Tuzla, which is under Muslim control. 

Unfortunately, numerous historical and cultural monuments of the Serbian people have disappeared forever. In addition to precious sacerdotal objects, whole galleries of icons
on iconostases were destroyed, the work of the most famous icon-painters and secular artists from the 16th to the 20th centuries. The number of icons on a single iconostasis
varies between 20 and 50, and even to 70. The lowest average would be 35 icons on an iconostasis, not including the other icons in the church. When this lowest average of
only 35 icons per iconostasis is multiplied by 210 demolished churches, a total of about 7,000 destroyed icons is obtained. Such a great number of lost works of art would
represent a catastrophe for any nation. Those are entire Louvres, Hermitages, Prados and other great national galleries. This is inflicting a genocide of art and spirit against an
entire nation, its culture and heritage. Sadly, the Serbian spiritual heritage is being destroyed by people who are close to this ecclesiastic and artistic heritage, either through a
shared Christian faith, cultural tradition, or territory. 

This Survey of Destroyed, Damaged and Desecrated Churches and Monasteries has been compiled on the basis of authentic reports which Bishops and Priests have submitted
to the Holy Synod of Bishops, i. e., to the Serbian Orthodox Museum in Belgrade. Expert committees, appointed by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, that is to
say the Republic’s Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, have where possible inspected the sites. Reports from observers from the European Union and Serbian
refugees who have testified to the demolition or damaging of their churches, monasteries and other church buildings, are an important source of information as well.

TOP 6 WESTERN MISCONCEPTIONS OF RUSSIA. 

Absolutely certain of credibility of their MainStream media (just like the old-style communists were certain of their newspaper PRAVDA), the naive victims of the
CNN-TimeMagazine-NewsWeek-NBC propaganda, firmly adhere to the following common misconceptions: 

Misconception #1: "Russia needs US (IMF etc) money" 
Misconception #2: "Russian Army is weak, the US Army and US patriotism are strong" 
Misconception #3: "Those are Russian friends of the West who oppose sending Russian troops to Kosovo" 
Misconception #4: "Russia is weak and poor" 
Misconception #5: "In a war 'Wealthy Vs Poor' the Wealthy win" 
Misconception #6: "The Balkan War is over, peacekeeping has begun" 

In what follows I will address these misconceptions in order. 

Misconception #1: "Russia needs US (IMF etc) money" 
========================================= 
More & more Russians are coming to the conclusion that neither they personally, nor the Russian economy have ever SEEN the aid money. There are many versions/theories
as to WHERE the money go [a) the top Russians steal it; b) the US-IMF short-change Russia; c) the US bribes Yelzin & Co through the IMF; d) the "Aid" does not exist: it is an
IMF subsidy to the Western businesses; e) the inflation eats it all; f) all of the above] It’s pointless to argue which one of the above is true. The COMMON denominator off all of
them is that the Russians simply DON'T see this money, whatever happens with it. Consequently, by now the Russian voters simply DON'T CARE whether they're going to
receive the aid - they won't see it anyway. Therefore, the Western threats of curbing the aid are nothing more than an empty sound to the Russian ear. 

Misconception #2: "Russian Army is weak, the US Army and US patriotism are strong." 
======================================= 
These believes are based on the assertion that the opinion polls are valid, and on the Misconception #5 ("Poorer means weaker"). The polls on American patriotism FAIL to
measure how much the American patriots (aka 'supporters') are willing to sacrifice: these polls only measure the %% of respondents who checked the "approve" option (just
like in a multiple-choice quiz). Beware, "approve" DOES NOT mean "willing to sacrifice". (Needless to say, in a war, patriotism may mean the willingness to sacrifice one's own
life!) There is indeed a difference between the numbers of those putting their check-mark next to "approve" and the number of those willing to sacrifice. The American opinion
polls FAIL to estimate this 'subtlety'. Meanwhile, as soon as the "approvers" see their countrymen dying they may INSTANTANEOUSLY start checking the option B: "disapprove".
Needless to say, the Russians don’t count those polls, and their (technically weaker) army is in fact stronger because the soldiers are willing to die in the battle, UNLIKE the
Americans, who join their Army "to see the world, gain experience, earn for college, become physically fit, etc." – anything, but fighting and self-sacrificing! 

Misconception #3: "Those Russian who oppose sending Russian troops in Kosovo are pro-Westerners" 
========================================================================= 
Many patriots (aka "ultra-nationalists") whose number is growing thanks to Clinton want the Russian Army to BOYCOTT the US-led "show". (Ukrainians are ALREADY boycotting
it; and the Albright-type idiots mistaken the boycott for cooperation!) For the alternative, these "ultra-nationalists" consider guerilla warfare against the NATO, and the
numbers of volunteers are swelling. 

Misconception #4: "Russia is weak and poor" 
================================= 
This one stems directly from the Western dogma holding that prosperity is measured exclusively by the monetary equivalent. False again. Money is just one of several valid
measures of prosperity, Others are: a) the connections (call it "corruption", if you wish); b) brutal force (strong & poor can CONFISCATE from wealthy & weak); c) presently
undervalued natural resources, bound to be valuable in the future; d) the know-how & overall educational level; e) control of (or access to) certain geographical areas; f) the
strength of the "shadow economy" (the one not in the accountants’ books) 
Thus Russia is indeed weak & poor in a MONETARY equivalent, but don’t underestimate all other valid measures of prosperity. 

Misconception #5: "In a war 'Wealthy Vs Poor' the Wealthy win" 
====================================== 
False again: The poor & backward tribes of Germans (aka the Barbarians) have conquered and destroyed the Roman Empire, the poorer Turks occupied and have controlled
for centuries the originally wealthier Greeks & and the Southern Europe, the poor Americans defeated the wealthier Great Britain, the poorer Germans (destroyed in WW I)
conquered the wealthier France & the rest of Europe (WW II) only to loose to the YET POORER Russians. 

Misconception #6: "The Balkan War is over, the peacekeeping has begun"

No, my friend, we are seeing the beginning of a bigger conflict. Just think for a moment: suppose that Milosevich and Hussein are indeed fascists and terrorists (just like the
stupid TV tells you!). Now tell me, WHAT prevents real terrorists from launching a terrorist attack against those who have destroyed their home? You may say that they should
be afraid that the US will drop an H-bomb on them in retaliation. Wrong again, and here is why. Suppose there is a major scale terrorist act in the US today. HOW do you
know then WHOM to prosecute for that: the Serbs, the Iraqi's, the Chinese (remember that embassy?) or the Palestinians? The point is that the US has done shit to so many
that by now the Americans DO NOT KNOW from whom, where and when to expect the retaliation. And once the rubbed, oppressed and offended retaliate (anonymously!), all
that the hypocrite US govt can do is to find a poor scape goat like Timmothy McWay (far simpler than finding the real culprits!)

Похоже, если через месяц кто-то скажет натовскому миротворцу, что сербы хотят войны, а хорваты, албанцы и босняки — нет, этот
кто-то немедленно получит в морду. Как говорят в новорусских анекдотах, ребята попали. За первые же сутки косовской операции в
крае обстреляли итальянскую колонну, порешили немецких журналистов, убили сербского прохожего, сожгли сто домов и до смерти
напугали саудовских стрелков, которые впервые на балканской свадьбе. Сербы стреляют в немцев, албанцев, американцев и
журналистов, албанцы — в сербов, в воздух и в православных священников, а также пугают русских десантников, которые вот-вот
опять проголодаются и тогда я вообще ни за что не ручаюсь. Сербскую армию пытаются разоружить, а она не разоружается, потому
что албанская армия все время норовит пальнуть вдогонку. Союзнические контингента глядят друг на друга волком и со значением
поглаживают цевье. Все это снимается на пленку, яснее ясного доказывая, что палят все и во всех. Обычно съемочные группы
поспевают к шапочному разбору, когда трупы уже накрыты простынкой, а судмедэксперты сантиметром вымеряют расстояние до
обгорелого автомобиля. Если мордобой попадает в кадр — значит, он происходит повсеместно и ежечасно. 

Только перейдя от войнотворчества к миротворчеству, НАТО смогла оценить, что такое Югославия. Да, глупые маленькие мальчишки,
это и есть те самые Балканы, которые вы пытаетесь принудить к миру битых десять лет. До мира на Балканах не доживут даже
сегодняшние первоклассники (особенно если их почаще бомбить). Слишком много кровных обид, этнической чересполосицы и крутого
подсолнечного темперамента. “Малые народы, населяющие эту небольшую страну, люто ненавидят друг друга”, — писал в путевом
дневнике Юрий Нагибин аж в 1977 году, когда некоторых сегодняшних боевиков еще на свете не было. 

Тем не менее гуманитарные крестоносцы продолжают бороться за мир в этом проклятом месте с упорством советских профсоюзов 70-х.
Им не объяснишь, почему югославы, столетиями существовавшие под свирепым османским игом так неровно дышат в сторону турок и
прочих мусульман. Им неведомы чувства сербов, в большинстве своем партизанивших в армии Тито, к усташам-хорватам, наравне с
фашистами вырезавшим сочувствующие партизанам деревни. И уж вовсе им не понятен тот нездоровый энтузиазм, который южные
славяне испытывают при виде пересекающих границу немецких танков с бун-десверовским крестом на борту. Странно, что это
приходится объянять самим немцам. Это для них, дурней, слова “ахтунг”, “шнель”, “цурюк”, “аусвайс”, “ферботен” значат всего-навсего
“внимание”, “быстро”, “назад”, “документы” и “запрещено” и употребляются чаще всего в беседе водителя с автоинспектором. Для
Восточной Европы эти слова значат совсем-совсем другое. Это скорее сигнал к затемнению, припрятыванию продуктов, досылу патрона
в патронник и массовому бегству в лес. 

Для главных зачинщиков мира, американцев, вся эта занимательная геофобия — грамота китайская. Память у них счастливая и
короткая. За свою куцую историю они если и успели с кем-то крупно поссориться, так это с англичанами (забыто за относительной
давностью лет), индейцами (забыто по случаю почти полного истребления заинтересованной стороны) и чернокожими

американец их способен слезть наконец со своих неколебимых логических конструкций, округлить глаза и задать в высшей степени
справедливый вопрос: “А ваше какое собачье дело?” Вопрос этот витает над операцией альянса с первого ее дня. Лечить Южную
Европу можно только травками, заговорами и усиленным питанием, не рассчитывая на скорый успех. Покой, покой, покой, витаминчики,
развивающие игры — и не приведи господь их злить или лезть с острыми и разрывными предметами. Пожалуй, единственной —
горькой и болезненной — панацеей от человекоубийства здесь может быть раздел спорных территорий и установление их этнической
однородности, т.е. встречная депортация жителей, которой худо-бедно и занимался Милошевич. Здесь-то и мог бы пригодиться русский
контингент, способный обеспечить безопасность сербскому сектору, но на раздел Косово дядя Сэм и его команда не согласны. У дяди
Сэма с 45-го на все один рецепт: бомбу бросить. Согласно опросам общественного мнения 94 года, свыше 80% американцев не
считают атомную бомбежку Японии преступлением, потому что после нее мир подписали. Блестящая логика. Отличная страна. 

Что касается стран, еще не достигших того же уровня гуманизма, то лучше им предоставить резать свое население самим — все
меньше жертв будет. В конце концов, это мы и только мы виноваты в том конфессионально-классово-этническом беспределе, который
творится сейчас в Афганистане и неизвестно когда кончится. Но мы — отсталая страна с дикими производственными отношениями,
только вчера избавившаяся от вредных идей и маразматического руководства. В той поножовщине, которая ждет бывшие республики
Советской Югославии в ближайшие десятилетия, будут виновны индустриальные гиганты, империи добра, столпы демократий и гаранты
международной стабильности. Проклятье им за это тройное. 

О чем говорили умные аналитики в дни боснийского замирения? О косовской пороховой бочке. Взорвалась бочка — о чем они говорят
сейчас? О македонской мине замедленного действия.

Although it was NATO's ostensible ally against 
Yugoslavia, it is hard to grasp why U.S. and NATO 
policymakers have concluded that the KLA forces 
are the "good guys." 
* First, the KLA is a nasty and thuggish lot. This 
is a coalition of the despicable: a radical right wing 
(descendants from the numerous ethnic Albanians 
who fought for the Nazis in World War II), a radical 
left wing (communist hard-liners), liberally mixed 
with Islamic fundamentalists and drug traffickers 
and other criminals. 
* Second, the KLA's ideology is inconsistent 
with America's postwar vision for the province, 
which, as President Clinton reiterated this week, 
calls for creation of a multiethnic democracy. The 
KLA is hostile toward democracy. As reporter 
Chris Hedges, who spent more than a year 
investigating the KLA, writes in the current issue of 
Foreign Affairs, the KLA has "little sympathy with 
or understanding of democratic institutions." And, as 
its postwar attempt to terrorize Kosovo's Serbs into 
fleeing--reverse ethnic cleansing--attests, the KLA 
rejects the idea of a multiethnic postwar Kosovo. 
* Third, the KLA's long-term political ambitions 
are antithetical to those of the United States and 
NATO. Washington and the alliance seek a postwar 
Kosovo that enjoys substantial self-rule as an 
autonomous province within Serbia. The KLA, 
however, is committed to attaining independence for 
Kosovo and ultimately to uniting Kosovo, by force if 
necessary, with Albania and with the ethnic 
Albanian portion of Macedonia, which could trigger 
a wider Balkan conflict. As Hedges puts it, the KLA 
is "uncompromising in its quest for an independent 
Kosovo now and a Greater Albania later." If the 
KLA succeeds in achieving its ambitions, it would 
bode ill for Balkan stability--the purported goal of 
U.S. policy. 
* Fourth, the KLA craftily orchestrated events in 
Kosovo in order to draw the U.S. and NATO into 
the conflict against Serbia. Early this year, the U.S. 
intelligence community warned the Clinton 
administration that the KLA would attempt to force 
NATO's intervention by staging provocations 
designed to elicit brutal Serb reprisals and thereby 
gain the West's sympathy and support. 
 

Installing the KLA as the dominant political power 
broker ultimately will prove to be bad.
